KeymasterHi JP,
I am currently on holiday for Easter. Is this an urgent matter or can I ask you to wait until tomorrow? 🙂
Thanks and have a nice day,
StefanoStefano

KeymasterIt does only affect the stats page. Anyway, disabling it again takes just two clicks, so I’d encourage you to try it out and see if it really shows down the stats page in a significant way 🙂

KeymasterNon saprei dirti…

Buona giornata,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterYou can enable an overall stats section which will be displayed below the stats table. Go to Options > Miscellanea > Performance, tick Display overall stats and save settings 🙂

KeymasterHi Bridget,
The PayPal account to pay with is specified at the moment of payment. After you check people to be paid, and then you go through the Confirm Payment page, at that point you will be asked what PayPal account you want to pay with.Hopes this helps! Let me know! 🙂
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterI’d suggest you recheck the upgrade process of this plugin because it shouldn’t require all that hassle
Totally agree with you, I will for sure!
Stefano
KeymasterAre you sure your site is still running version 1.3 of the addon? That is all it could generate the problem: if it was working before, the plugin code must have changed, so it’s likely that for some reason version 1.3 is no longer in place.
As I have already suggested in my very first reply to this thread, I am available to look into the issue myself and fix it directly, without having you bother with it. However, to do that I would need temporary admin access to your site. Of course I am not forcing you to provide me access to your site, it’s just an extra option some customers are happy to take advantage of 🙂
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterI’m glad we finally managed to sort it out 🙂 don’t hesitate to ask for more help should you need it!

KeymasterI am confused as to which is the proper one to actually go in and do all the editing (or does it matter). This is confusing and I hope you can provide some clarification soon
It doesn’t matter, because all the links you mentioned point to the same place, which is the admin.php?page=ppc-options page.
If you go to Post Pay Counter > Options in your wp-admin nav menu, you will reach what we may call the General Options page. In the right column, there is the Personalize Settings box, with links to apt pages to set different settings for each user. And then, probably down at the bottom, there is the Category Custom Settings box that provides links to pages to set up special settings for each category.
Does this help? 🙂
Have a nice day,

KeymasterI pressed the button to update the plugin but it keeps showing an alert message to update (even though it says I have version 1.3 installed), so something is not quite right with it.
When that happens, just disable the plugin, hit the update button and activate it again. The notification should just go away 🙂
I understand that Pay Post Counter must be active for the Category addon to work. But once both are activated, you can go into either one and the category setting and license key section is in both – so they become identical, which confuses me as to which one I should use to set my desired settings.
It is true that the category box is in both, but almost all of the other boxes are not there actually. In a category setting page you should only see the Counting settings, Category settings, Error log and Import/Export boxes. Isn’t this the case? Could you post a screenshot?
If you put a Save All at the top and also at the bottom then I don’t think users will miss it. I’ve seen other programs like that before. But oh well.
That may be useful, but right now the saving routine is split among boxes, so I’m afraid this won’t be available anytime soon 🙂
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterHopefully you will have a fix for this over the coming days or this plugin really won’t work for my needs. How many days are we talking here?
It’s actually already available! Category Custom Version version 1.3 fixes the issue! 🙂

KeymasterBuddyPress addon version 1.2 allows members to pick the wished time range! 🙂

Probably today 🙂
And yes I have a cache plugin, most WordPress sites do. If it can’t work with a cache, then you should tweak the plugin so that it can.
And in fact, it does. However, I have seen GoDaddy servers with very aggressive caching that sometimes caused issues with settings being saved and not showing up for a couple minutes.
I just realized that you have to press save on each & every section that you edit, that’s why it wasn’t saving. It would be more convenient to have just one button to press in order to save all changes. This would be a better UX in my opinion.
I believe it would be worse. I imagine tons of users just would not scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the save button. Anyway, I’m glad you managed to solve the issue 🙂

KeymasterHi Multimastery,
thanks for all the information!I just tried it on another site in which is did display the categories, but now none of the setting will save for longer than 10 seconds or less.
If the settings just vanish after a while, it’s more likely to be a server issue of plugin conflict than a real bug of the addon. Do you have any caching plugins that may be interfering?
Also, it seems that the free version of the plugin needs to be installed in addition to the separate category plugin, correct? If so, the settings can be set in either plugin (in which I did), but what is the purpose of having both plugins installed where you can set the same settings in each one. Confusing!
Yes, Category Custom Settings is an addon to Post Pay Counter (and this is stated in the addon page as well), thus Post Pay Counter needs to be active. I don’t understand what you mean with “what is the purpose of having both plugins installed where you can set the same settings in each one“. The Category addon allows you to set up different Counting settings for each category, which would not be possible without.
I found out what the problem was on the first site where the categories weren’t showing. The problem is that it only displays a category if there are publicly published post in the category; it doesn’t show the category if there’s just private posts in it
Thanks for reporting that! I will look into it and release a fix for this bug in the coming days ASAP! 🙂
