KeymasterRight, I’m not saying this is never going to be a thing, but rather that it’s not in the immediate future. Sometimes customers require very small tweaks to make the plugin fit their needs, and when it takes a few minutes, I’m happy to accommodate. I’m just saying this isn’t the case at hand π
Stefano
KeymasterIt’s still quite some work – we’d need stuff in the frontend, then save some of those amounts to database and ability to retrieve them. It’s not so easy as it may sound π
Stefano
KeymasterNo, you’d have to it manually. The Pay with PayPal function is basically an enhanced version of the Mark as paid, which first prompts for payment and then triggers an automatic mark as paid on the paid items. So PayPal payments can’t be triggered on past payments, only on unpaid amounts π

KeymasterHi Karel,
1. if I would mark some author as paid, is this recorded somewhere? I mean, I can click it as PAID without really paying it, then be able to find it somewhere in a list of paid authors and after a month I will just manually pay via PayPal the amount which we clicked as paid. Is this possible? Can I see the history?
Totally! When you mark an author or post as paid, a record is logged in the Payment history, alongside with some details. You may also add a note to each payment.
Have a look at this tutorial that includes screenshots from the whole payment flow π
2. what about having new status, To be paid? It would also solve it perfectly. I would mark the author as to be paid, then after a month I would click Pay and would pay it directly in wordpress. That would be perfect. The plugin would have to remember the amount to be paid. Of course, there can be one more situation that I would click to be paid more times so the amount would have to be the totalβ¦
This would require considerable work to be implemented, I’m afraid, and I don’t forecast it to be done anytime soon, sorry π

KeymasterHi Fotis,
cool, glad to hear everything is okay πHave a nice day,

Keymasteri have more than 10 years in wordpress, please keep that in mind when you talk to me,
I’m sorry, but unless you tell me in the first place, I can’t know. I’ve been providing support to this plugin for more than 5 years now and I have learnt I can’t give anything for granted. I have had customers with varying levels of expertise, some of whom did not even know what a shortcode was. So, again, I am sorry, but when things don’t work as expected I have to ask simple questions, because more often than not, believe it or not, at least for other people, they have been the solution π
The problem itβs the shortcode man, i see the red box like the previous version, you donβt understand me?
That is what I thoughts, but then this sentence was misleading for me
I have also tried activating the option to show the link in the post and it does not work either, it shows nothing.
I asked for confirmation just to be sure we were talking about the same issue π
The fact is that the shortcode does not work in any way, have you tried it?
Yes, I have tested my changes, and they work for me – see the attached screenshot.
At this points, the easiest and quickest thing could be to provide me temporary admin access if you want, so that I can personally look into the issue and fix it as soon as possible. Let me know!
Have a nice day,

KeymasterOh right, so the problem is not the shortcode itself, am I correct? You don’t see the box anyway, even with the default plugin settings on, right? Have you ever seen it, or is it a problem with this new version?
Stefano
KeymasterBut you do see the default box, right? Are you logged in (I realize it may be a silly question, but I am honestly a bit clueless at this point)?
Stefano
KeymasterWhat does it happens exactly? You put the shortcode and it gets replaced with nothing? Or does it show up as text?
Stefano
KeymasterHi Alexey,
is the shortcode not working even if you put in the body of posts in which you already see the referral box?this is not working βI will try to add an option to move the box to the bottom of the postβ
I didn’t do this – instead, I allowed the box to be hidden from frontend and introduced the shortcode, so that you may put it anywhere you like π
Stefano
KeymasterSorry, my mistake. Released a new update just now. Let me know!
Stefano
KeymasterHi Alexey,
thanks for the nice suggestion, I’ll certainly keep it in mind. However, I feel like only the one related to earnings is really tied to Post Pay Counter, all the others don’t strictly require it (in fact, they may be already available through some other plugin) πHave a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterNew version released! π
Stefano
KeymasterHi Alexey,
sorry for the delay!I have the changes ready – only minor tweaks are needed. I will release the new version on Monday, with the shortcode feature and ability to change color and text of the box π
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterChanging the code directly is not advised as it would break future updates. Since it was a possibly-useful feature for others, I have just added an option in the Options > Counting settings box > Total payment section to allow hiding of the Total payment column. Version 2.744 of Post Pay Counter ships this feature, and should be available in minutes π
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterHi Alexandre,
first sorry for the delay, I missed your post!So we can not change the payments of authors without distorting the statistics of previous articles or I missed a parameter?
That is right – payments are computed on the fly with the current settings, so updating payment settings has effect on all posts total payments. However, as you have experienced, the Due payment column is always right (if you mark authors as paid before changing their settings) π
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterHi there, can you make sure the addon license is activated?
Stefano
KeymasterHi there,
can you even access the Options page through the Post Pay Counter on the admin menu sidebar? Can you post a screenshot please?Have a nice day,

KeymasterHi Jonas,
I am away right now. I will send them on Monday πHave a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterEhi :),
1. Can somewhere authors request payments? Like a checkbox or something so I know that they want to be paid? Not everyone wants to get money each month but to accumulate them.
Yes, as you mentioned, there is the Request Payment addon π
2. They will be paid for views. So if for some author will be for example 10k views, which could be 10 dollars, can I pay just 4 and rest will remain still in his statistics as unpaid and future views (money) will be added to it?
This is not possible as well, When you mark a post as paid, all its due payment is cleared without ability to edit it. And when an author is marked as paid, all their posts are fully marked as paid π
3. Paying for the views means that the sum after being paid is cleared to 0 and then every other views from now on again add money to their account for all the views, is that right? I am a little bit confused from the screenshots where you select articles as paid but we need to pay for page views.
Yes – the due payment gets reset to zero and a new entry is added to the Payment history, recording the payment. The Total payment value, though, will always display the total value, even after payment. Future views accumulate and will build up another non-zero Due payment value, and can be paid out again, but past views won’t be double paid π
