KeymasterIf we can’t filter by date, what’s the purpose of the publisher bonus add-on?
Stefano
KeymasterHi there,
I realize this may not be totally clear as it’s not thoroughly explained anywhere, but that’s the expected behavior. In fact, visits counting works like this as well. The datepicker at the top of the stats page only gives you control on the post publication date: you select a range, and posts published in that time range will be displayed. However, data related to posts/authors (visits, revenues, publishings, facebook shares, and everything) is not influenced by the selected range.I’d also like to point out that this is needed to build a plugin that works, and does so in real time without requiring huge amounts of memory and computation power. Being able to display all the data above (visits, publishings, and so on) depending on the date chosen would require the plugin to keep track of the precise time a visit or a publishing occurred, and make data selections possibly different from page load to page load with little to no chance of chaching, and while this may seem fine on a site with 100 posts a month and a couple stats loading a day, this is definitely not possible for a site with 10k posts a month, dozens of authors and a couple stats page load per minute.
Hope this makes sense to you ๐
Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterHi Ben,
so glad you’re liking the plugins!I’ve tested the plugin with two external visits counting plugins (WP-PostViews and Post Views Counter), and you can find the tutorial on setting them up with PPC here: http://www.thecrowned.org/pay-writers-per-visit-wordpress.
Early versions of PPC did include an internal views counter, but why spend time on building a views counter that can surely be easily deceived by cleaning cookies when you can rely on way more professional tools such as Google Analytics? ๐Stefano
KeymasterOnly thing that comes to my mind is try to install some alternative csv viewer, such as Libreoffice, and see if you can set it up to display European csvs correctly without breaking Office.
Have a nice day,

KeymasterIf I am understanding that article correctly, making the changes they suggest will make Post Pay Counter Pro’s csv file work correctly, but it will make all the other downloadable excel files from my country stop working. That is not acceptable. It would be easier to hand key everything from PPCP than attempt to do the same for Google, Paypal and the others.
Multiple possible solutions were shown, but of course it was the last one that finally worked. Just a pain to try to remember all 5 steps when they will only be completed once a month. But that is not your fault. Microsoft strikes again.
Thanks for your help and have a GREAT day.
Stefano
KeymasterI’ve just tried it out with the csv from your own site and it works fine for me. Apparently, this is a mess though, check this out:

KeymasterOne other thing I just noticed, might be a bug. When downloading the excel csv file, it is not opening properly in Excel 2013. Each row all cells are loaded into the first cell.
I think I am seeing a semi colon instead of a comma between cells. Can’t be sure because it is very hard for me to see the difference. But it most assuredly is not load into excel 2013.

KeymasterThanks for your help! I appreciate it greatly!

KeymasterHi Mark,
please make sure that in Post Pay Counter > Options > Counting settings > Visits payment Google Analytics is selected as counting method. If your users have personalized settings, do check the same for them as well.
Does this help?Have a nice day,
StefanoStefano
KeymasterHi Denise,
sorry for the delay.
It should be fine now, check it out. It was just a problem of permissions: I’ve just granted the first two permissions (ability to see other people’s general and detailed stats) to everybody, if you’d like it not to be so, you’ll need to untick them from the general settings and personalize your user’s settings through the Personalize settings box and grant them only to your user (and any other users you’d like to) ๐Have a nice day,
StefanoDenise Freeman
Keymasternever mind, I finally found it. Sorry about that.
Denise Freeman
KeymasterI may be overlooking it (I’m the almost blind lady), but is there an email I can send you login details?
Stefano
KeymasterThe temp admin login would be really helpful, thanks!

KeymasterThe stats report and the individual report you can see from each post, all worked until the end of the month for both my own and my other authors posts.
Since the end of the month, when I use the stats date function to show from 5/1 – 5/31, it shows only me, not my other author.
When I go into an individual post for my other author is shows “Error: no posts were selected”, on every single one of her posts. Since I advertise both her posts and mine in the exact same places, I find it very hard to believe not a single visit on any of her posts but every one of my posts has multiple visits.
The report from 6/1 – 6/2 is showing nothing for either of us, even though I know there were views. My individual posts show a total of about 80 to 100 views, but nothing is showing on the stats page.
If you need to see it firsthand, I can give you a admin login to work with.
Stefano
KeymasterHi Denise,
I haven’t exactly understood what your issue is. IWhich one of the following two is it?- It worked fine for May, but now you’re not seeing May posts anymore.
- You’re trying to see June posts, but nothing shows up
Have a nice day,
StefanoMark
KeymasterOkay, just sent u the login details via mail
Stefano
KeymasterLook into your wp-config.php for this line
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
and change it to
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
if no errors are displayed in the post edit page even now, could I have a temp admin account? I’m 99% sure it’s nor the PRO fault or all users would have reported it ๐
Mark
KeymasterOkay got the log:
[read & removed]
Mark
KeymasterHi, I enable debug and debug log, but I dont get any message nor any log file in my wp_content after turning on the plugin again. I just get a grey site after turning on postpay counter pro when I want to create a new article.
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
@ini_set(‘display_errors’,0);
define(‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true);Stefano
KeymasterHi Mark,
sorry for the inconvenient! However, I’m aware of no issues, so I’ll need some more details. Please enable WP_DEBUG as explained here
http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/debugging-wordpress-how-to-use-wp_debug/
then renable PPC PRO and try to load the post page again: an error should be displayed.
Thanks! -
