Oliver McAninchHi –
A few days ago I installed Post Pay Counter Pro, and the Facebook add on.I have linked it to my Google Analytics account The one thing I’m confused about is the views seem totally inaccurate / low.
Total views for each post are considerably lower than the view count shown in Google Analytics.
Also, when I look at the ‘previous week’ view, it brings up zero views… which isn’t right. It’s more like half a million views in total! Please advise.
Kind regards,
Ollie
Hi Oliver,
before giving you a detailed and lengthy explanation on how the feature works, I’d encourage you to try playing with the Update data feature in the Google Analytics Status box. Just try selecting a date from last year, refresh the page several times until the pending rows counter goes to zero, and check out the stats page 🙂Let me know!
Have a nice day,
Stefano
Oliver McAninchHi Stefano –
I’ve played around with this a few times, and now actually the stats are just bringing up zero page views across all views. The stats (which were far too low) have now vanished all together.
In addition, I have purchased the Facebook add-on. The following warning is in the Facebook status box:
‘No Facebook token option could be found, please authorize the plugin through the button below. If you have just installed the addon, this is normal, otherwise something could have gone wrong. More info and tutorials can be found here.’
However, there is no information or tutorial about this in the link provided.
Please advise.
Cheers,
Ollie
Oliver McAninchPS. Re Facebook, this is the error message I receive when I click the Authorize Plugin button:
Can’t Load URL: The domain of this URL isn’t included in the app’s domains. To be able to load this URL, add all domains and subdomains of your app to the App Domains field in your app settings.
Oliver McAninchPPS. Re GA counter, the site has had 435,234 hits so far this month, but the Post Pay Counter stats are only showing 8,677 (with zero rows pending).
Some of the traffic will derive from old posts, but not that much.
For example, we know from GA that this post alone had over 96,000 hits this month: https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/these-are-all-the-mps-who-voted-for-a-cruel-cap-on-free-school-meals-from-low-income-families-unless-its-northern-ireland/14/03/Hi Oliver,
may I propose to create me a temp admin account so I may set the plugins up on your behalf? There seem to be several different issues at hand that may require several posts back and forth before finally solving them. Let me know what you think! 🙂Have a nice day,
Stefano
Oliver McAninchHi Stefano –
That would be great. Let me know which email address you would like me to set you up with?
Thanks,
Ollie
