I have the Pro, and I was hoping that PayPal verification would work but not sure why. It became increasingly important lately when my batch payment failed on one author. Since everybody looks Unverified, it made it a bit tougher to figure out who’s payment didn’t go through.

Is there a trick to get the plugin to start verifying payments with paypal?

    Thanks
    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
the PayPal Verified badge is acquired through the PayPal IPN feature (Instant Payment Notification). This requires that the feature is enabled in your PayPal account and that your server is ready to handle requests coming from PayPal carrying the transactions confirmation. However, I’ve seen issues with this feature more often that not, and was even thinking of getting rid of it at some point in the future…

Check that your PayPal account has IPN active and try to go to your wp-admin, then Settings > Permalinks and just save settings, without changing anything. This may help solving.

    Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

I go into paypal and can’t for the life of me find where I enable IPN.

Actually, found it. But what should my Notification URL be?

It should be yoursite.com/ppcp/paypal. For example, for this site, it’s http://postpaycounter.com/ppcp/paypal.

Please let me know if this fixes the issue, as this could be helpful to others! ๐Ÿ™‚

However, notice that setting the IPN URL is not needed, as Post Pay Counter dynamically sets it for every transaction. Setting it in your account will make PayPal use it to confirm EVERY transaction you make on any website (even on ebay, for example). This is not good, since my plugin only handles confirmations for requests performed through it. Several requests to your server from PayPal could then go astray and PayPal would complain to you by email.

You could probably have more luck in checking that there no conflicts with rewrite rules with Rewrite Rules Inspector ๐Ÿ™‚

I set my wordpress directory and then /ppcp/paypal, as it would not let me leave the Notification URL blank.
