I recently purchased the Post Pay Counter Pro upgrade only to find out I had to activated the license key in order to use the extra features I PAID FOR! YOU CANNOT DO THAT! Your plugin is for WordPress and therefore based on wordpress coding and wordpress is strictly governed by the GPL. The Free Software Federation and the GPL strickly forbid what you are doing! YOU CANNOT MAKE PEOPLE BUY A NEW LICENSE KEY EACH TIME THEY WANT TO USE YOUR PLUGIN ON A DIFFERENT SITE. AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO PAY FOR EACH SITE YOUR PLUGIN IS INSTALLED ON YOU CANNOT MAKE THEM! If you want to control the distribution of your work like this GO MAKE YOUR OWN plublishing platform! I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND AND REPORTING YOU TO ALL THE PROPER ORGANIZATIONS!!

Hey, if you don’t like our policy, just don’t use our products!
The fact that licenses work this way is stated clearly both in the Installation section of the addon your puchased and in the License notes page.

It’s true that plugins hosted on the WordPress.org repository need to have all their functions working and unlocked, but this is not a plugin hosted on WordPress.org.

Anyway, I’ve just issued a full refund.

And thanks for opening a topic with a misleading title. GPL provides “CONDITIONS FOR COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND MODIFICATION”, not for how the software should be. You still have access to the source, so nothing against the GPL here. Not to mention the fact that GPL is for free software, and addons are clearly not free software.
