Hello,
I recently purchased the Post Pay Counter Pro plugin and need some help getting started. Here are my questions:
1. In the Options > PayPal Settings section, does the “Use users’ email address for PayPal” checkbox mean that the email address a user registers with will be used as their paypal address? So, if this checkbox is checked, then no need for the user to enter a value into the PayPal email address field on their profile?
2. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, I noticed that the description of the payment is my name. Is there a way to change the description of the payment to something else?
3. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, I noticed that the cancel link (i.e. “cancel payment and return to Stefano Ottolenghi”) has your name. Is it possible to change your name to my website name instead?
4. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, how do I confirm the email address of the user before completing the transaction?
5. Can I pay a user via paypal for a post more than once? For example, if there was a problem with the payment and I need to try sending the payment to the user again, is it possible to select the post and pay again?
6. The following attributes for the [ppc] short code are not working on my site: display_overall, time_range. Nothing happens when I add them to the short code. Here is how I tried to use them: [ppc author="current" exclude="post_id, post_type, post_status, post_bonus, post_words, post_visits, post_images, post_comments" display_overall=1 time_range=”last_month”]
Thanks,
Ezenwa

1. In the Options > PayPal Settings section, does the “Use users’ email address for PayPal” checkbox mean that the email address a user registers with will be used as their paypal address? So, if this checkbox is checked, then no need for the user to enter a value into the PayPal email address field on their profile?
Yes, that’s correct! However, if the checkbox is checked, the user can still provide a different email address through the apt field in his profile page. The login email will be used if the field is left blank.
2. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, I noticed that the description of the payment is my name. Is there a way to change the description of the payment to something else?
No, sorry.
3. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, I noticed that the cancel link (i.e. “cancel payment and return to Stefano Ottolenghi”) has your name. Is it possible to change your name to my website name instead?
Again, no, sorry.
4. After submitting a test payment to PayPal, how do I confirm the email address of the user before completing the transaction?
The email/name+surname of the user should be visible on the left at the moment of payment in the PayPal interface. Isn’t that so?
5. Can I pay a user via paypal for a post more than once? For example, if there was a problem with the payment and I need to try sending the payment to the user again, is it possible to select the post and pay again?
Yes, as long as you delete the incomplete payment history record. Let me know if you need directions on this.
The issue for the time_range attribute is that the quotes you are using are “curly”, not simple ones. Try to write them again directly into WordPress and see if it works. For the display_overall, can you post a screenshot?
Also, I’ve trashed your other topic since it was just the same as this but lacked one question 🙂
Have a nice day,

Thanks so much for your responses!
Just a couple of follow up questions:
For #5, please provide directions on how to delete payment history. Is it possible to only delete payments submitted for specific posts or must the entire payment history be deleted?
For #6, I revised the short code to use simple quotes but the time_range attribute is still not working. Here is the revised short code: [ppc author="current" exclude="post_id, post_type, post_status, post_bonus, post_words, post_visits, post_images, post_comments" time_range="last_month"]. How do I include a screenshot on the forum?
Thanks,
Ezenwa

You can either delete a whole transaction (all histories of all authors paid in one batch), a single post payment history record or an author’s payment history record (history records for that author for all posts paid in that batch). More difficult to explain than to see and understand, I can assure you 😀
Make sure you have the correct permissions: either check Miscellanea -> Admins override all permissions or personalize your user settings through the Personalize settings box (then go to the Permissions box and tick all payment-history-related permissions).
Then go to the stats page and find the post you would like to delete a payment history record of. On the right you will find a link See payment history. Then, beside each record there is a red link to delete the record. 🙂
For #6, I revised the short code to use simple quotes but the time_range attribute is still not working. Mmmm that’s strange! I’ve just trieod your exact same shortcode and it works for me! I’d suggest trying to add arguments one by one and see if they work alone: try just [ppc time_range="last_month"], does it work?
To attach a picture in the forum you actually need to host it somewhere (such as http://it.tinypic.com/) and then include the link in your post.
Have a nice day,
