    Hello,
I’m just setting this up and have some custom ways I’d like to pay authors that the plugin does not integrate. However, I could do so manually using the bonus setting. I realize that there’s an author bonus addon, but that seems to be for adding a bonus for an author at the time of payment.

I’ve played around a bit with the bonus field on the single post and think this might work but I want to make sure that ti will work as I intend.

On the post I experimented with, I was able to enter a bonus, then mark it as paid, then return and delete the amount in that field, return to the user stats and the new bonus was applied and could be paid. Is this generally the way it works — I can delete an already-paid bonus from the field and then add a new one?

And then if I want to add a bit more to the field every month? Say I already have a bonus of $1.00 in that field and then for the next month want to add on another $2.00 so I return and change the amount to $3.00, then eventually they get to the point where I pay them, and I can return, delete the amount in that field, and start over? Will it work that way? Does this make any sense:)

    Thanks

    Hi Cheryl,
yeah, that’s why it works in the way you’ve experienced: so that you may assign extra bonus to the same post. In other words, you may keep rewarding the same post payment after payment. You don’t even need to ever set it to zero: you can simply increase it every time. For example you may set it to $1.50 the first payment, then to $4 for the second, and so on. Notice that if you instead decrease the bonus after payment, then the due payment can become negative.

    Hope this helps! 🙂
