Hello. We are thinking of buying the whole pro bundle but I want to ask one question. As we get money for our ads one month later, we pay now our writers 30 days net. That means that if they had 1000 views in January, then they can ask for the payment at the beginning of March.
Is it possible to set up also with your plugin?
Thanks.
March 20, 2019 at 3:25 pm #64152StefanoKeymasterHi Karel,
it’s possible, but bear in mind that visits are not separated day by day or month by month, they are always the total. So in March posts won’t display views only from January, but also from February.Does this answer and help? π
Have a nice day,
StefanoMarch 20, 2019 at 4:14 pm #64155KarelGuestYeah I know that the views are not based on some months. But I would need to have there the option to payout via PayPal let’s say all the views up to the last month. Not including current one. Either that or put there maybe a delay that it wouldn’t be possible to payout money for the views in the last 30 days or something like that.
Do you have that option there? If so, how does it work?
Thanks.

Uhm, I’m not sure. I’d advise checking out this tutorial, it may be of help. But I feel like it’s going to be a bit hard to achieve what you need, because you would need a way to filter out views by month, basically, to exclude the ones from the current month. However this is not possible, as the views data is always aggregate and will include data up to the last update, which happens daily. I’m not sure if this is of help… :\
Have a nice day,
StefanoMarch 21, 2019 at 7:39 pm #64179KarelGuestWell, that doesn’t help much. Can’t you just add an option to payments not to include last (or current or x months) so the payment will allow everything EXCEPT last month to be paid? And then the rest will stay in their account as unpaid.
Or something like this? There are for sure many ways how to do it and I don’t know your plugin and addons. But as I said, everything must be visible like it is (views and everything) just the payment must allow minus last month (or months or xy days). I am pretty sure that A LOT of sites is being paid precisely the same way from the ads, some are even net 60 or net 90. We are just net 30 (after 30 days the income from ads is generated). It’s totally very common way of all the ad networks or publishers…
Thank you.
March 22, 2019 at 10:41 am #64181StefanoKeymasterso the payment will allow everything EXCEPT last month to be paid?
This is unfortunately not possible, because the plugin has not idea of what visits came from what month – so it can’t distinguish last month views from earlier ones :\ What you can so is exclude posts written in the last month, but not views received this month from last month posts, I’m afraid! I’m sorry that this doesn’t meet your expectations, but it’s pretty much deeply rooted in the plugin, and would require a lot of work to change.
Have a nice day,
StefanoMarch 22, 2019 at 10:56 am #64184KarelGuestI see. Ok, I have another questions though. I know that all the paypal payments must be made by me, as the admin.
1. Can somewhere authors request payments? Like a checkbox or something so I know that they want to be paid? Not everyone wants to get money each month but to accumulate them.
2. They will be paid for views. So if for some author will be for example 10k views, which could be 10 dollars, can I pay just 4 and rest will remain still in his statistics as unpaid and future views (money) will be added to it?
3. Paying for the views means that the sum after being paid is cleared to 0 and then every other views from now on again add money to their account for all the views, is that right? I am a little bit confused from the screenshots where you select articles as paid but we need to pay for page views.Thank you.
March 22, 2019 at 11:02 am #64186KarelGuestAh, request is there, just saw the feature on your site :-).
March 22, 2019 at 3:19 pm #64192StefanoKeymasterEhi :),

Yes, as you mentioned, there is the Request Payment addon π

This is not possible as well, When you mark a post as paid, all its due payment is cleared without ability to edit it. And when an author is marked as paid, all their posts are fully marked as paid π

Yes – the due payment gets reset to zero and a new entry is added to the Payment history, recording the payment. The Total payment value, though, will always display the total value, even after payment. Future views accumulate and will build up another non-zero Due payment value, and can be paid out again, but past views won’t be double paid π
April 4, 2019 at 10:09 am #64419KarelGuestHello,
ok, I have few more questions which could finally solve the issue.
1. if I would mark some author as paid, is this recorded somewhere? I mean, I can click it as PAID without really paying it, then be able to find it somewhere in a list of paid authors and after a month I will just manually pay via PayPal the amount which we clicked as paid. Is this possible? Can I see the history?
2. what about having new status, To be paid? It would also solve it perfectly. I would mark the author as to be paid, then after a month I would click Pay and would pay it directly in wordpress. That would be perfect. The plugin would have to remember the amount to be paid. Of course, there can be one more situation that I would click to be paid more times so the amount would have to be the total…What do you say?
Thanks,

Totally! When you mark an author or post as paid, a record is logged in the Payment history, alongside with some details. You may also add a note to each payment.
Have a look at this tutorial that includes screenshots from the whole payment flow π

This would require considerable work to be implemented, I’m afraid, and I don’t forecast it to be done anytime soon, sorry π
Have a nice day,
StefanoApril 4, 2019 at 11:22 am #64426KarelGuestOk I see. And is it possible to first mark someone as Paid and later Pay it via Paypal? Isn’t that blocked or something? Is it possible to pay what has been marked as paid and not influence other future statistics and payments? Or would we have to do it manually directly at PayPal?
April 4, 2019 at 11:25 am #64429StefanoKeymasterNo, you’d have to it manually. The Pay with PayPal function is basically an enhanced version of the Mark as paid, which first prompts for payment and then triggers an automatic mark as paid on the paid items. So PayPal payments can’t be triggered on past payments, only on unpaid amounts π
April 4, 2019 at 11:29 am #64433KarelGuestOk. Anyway, one more status would be in every case awesome. It doesn’t have to do anything, but to be able to mark them as To be paid would help a lot. Imagine, that someone would request it. We would mark it as to be paid (it can delete all the stats as normally) and in general, I can just translate the button to show it to be paid. But then we would need one more simple status as Paid. So we can track the payments after it’s done.
Can’t you add at least this simple status without any other connections? Just to be able to mark it?
April 4, 2019 at 2:52 pm #64436StefanoKeymasterIt’s still quite some work – we’d need stuff in the frontend, then save some of those amounts to database and ability to retrieve them. It’s not so easy as it may sound π
April 4, 2019 at 2:54 pm #64440KarelGuestOk, but I think this would help a lot of sites, not just us. I’m pretty sure that paying after several days or weeks is a very common thing for bigger sites…
April 4, 2019 at 2:56 pm #64443StefanoKeymasterRight, I’m not saying this is never going to be a thing, but rather that it’s not in the immediate future. Sometimes customers require very small tweaks to make the plugin fit their needs, and when it takes a few minutes, I’m happy to accommodate. I’m just saying this isn’t the case at hand π
