Translation didn’t work.

    Hi,

    The translation in the lang file at “post-pay-counter” worked very well when I changed the .mo file name to ppc-ar.mo
    However, the .mo file in the lang file at “post-pay-counter-pro” did not work, even when I changed the name to ppcp-ar.mo

    Any suggestions?

    Hi there,
    The translation system is just the same for both plugins, so it’s quite weird that what worked for the free hasn’t for the PRO. I assume you’ve done the same steps for both plugins, right?

    The same steps were done for both!
    ppc-ar.mo worked on the free one.
    ppcp-ar.mo did not work on the paid one.

    And have you changed the language in the file header as well?

    I did not get what you mean by “file header” ?

    Anyhow, would you assist me on how to change the following to choose the language file I want.

    I haven’t really understood what you are trying to achieve. The PRO version is currently translated in three different languages other than English: Italian, German, French. If your blog is in one of these languages, the appropriate language will be automatically selected. Are you trying to translate the plugin in another language? In that case, you need the template file… Please details some more!

    I’m trying to translate it to Arabic (ar).
    The Free one worked just fine when I changed the .mo file.
    What template file I should look at? My blog is in Arabic.

    I don’t see how renaming the .mo file would change the translation to arabic. You need to open the .po file and retranslate everything, and then save it as ppcp_ar.

    I opened the .po file and retranslated everything, and then saved it as ppcp_ar. And it did not work.
    It already worked for the free plugin, but not for the PRO.
    Anyhow, I’ll just keep trying. Thanks.

    One thing you may have not done is, in Poedit, go to the translation properties (I think it’s Catalog > Properties) and check the selected language is actually Arabic.

    I want to translate the from english to portuguese br (the automatic translation is very limited) but I cannot find the .po of english. In the lang of the plugin theres only the français, german, and other…

    That’s great news! I usually give a discount on the PRO purchase to translators who are willing to have their translations included in public releases – since you’ve already purchased, unless you’re interested in other addons, I can give you a partial refund 🙂

    The free plugin portoguese translation was done some months ago by a brazilian guy, but certainly needs updating, whereas the PRO has none. Look at this tutorial (scroll down to the for translators part):

    You can find the pot file for the PRO in the /lang folder – I will email you the updated po file for the free version, so you can translate the missing strings (check in your spam folder as well please).
