I just set everything up and followed the instructions to a T to get GA connected to your plugin which it did, which is evident by this screenshot:
http://screencast.com/t/uni7zgqWW7t8
As you can see, I’m asking for the plugin to go back 180 days to track stats for posts.
But the problem is that when the stats show up for the past 180 days, all of the posts have exactly 1 visit as shown in this screen grab:
http://screencast.com/t/sC08gqgF7Put
I know that for a fact these posts have been seen thousands of times accumulative but yet they show only 1 visit. I’m trying to test things out before I make this feature public on my site.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
May 30, 2014 at 7:00 am #1267StefanoKeymasterHello BJ,
First of all, notice that data will have successfully been updated when the pending rows counter in the Analytics box you posted will be 0. It shouldn’t take long anyway.Second, please check that in the options (both general and personalized ones, if you have any), counting settings > visits > counting method, the field related to Analytics is checked. Is it?
Have a nice day,
StefanoMay 30, 2014 at 4:45 pm #1268BJKeymasterHa ha! I totally overlooked that. I was playing around with the free version before and forgot to update that section.
I’m waiting for rows to update then I’ll report back if everything worked.
May 30, 2014 at 4:50 pm #1269BJKeymasterIt works! ๐
This is going to be awesome for me. I appreciate the plugin.
Where can I go to recommend possible updates?
May 30, 2014 at 5:45 pm #1270StefanoKeymasterGlad to know the plugin works and suits your needs! If you ever felt like writing a short review on your blog, tell your friends or at least giving it a positive rating on the WP repository, it would be hugely appreciated. I’m struggling to find new users to be able to keep the development up…
You can have a look at the features survey http://www.thecrowned.org/post-pay-counter-pro-features-survey or open a new topic in the apt forum http://www.thecrowned.org/forums/forum/post-pay-counter-pro-forum/feature-request ๐
June 1, 2014 at 10:16 pm #1282BJKeymasterHave you ever tried listing your plugin on CodeCanyon?
I’m a web developer as well and find a lot of useful plugins there.
This is just a suggestion because I feel that you may be on to something here with this plugin. Just create a pay for model and go with that.
There’s some folks on Code Canyon making a lot of money selling their plugins.
June 1, 2014 at 10:17 pm #1283BJKeymasterYou don’t realize how long I’ve been searching and looking for a revenue share type of plugin without having to input my user’s Adsense code in their posts. I’d rather be in complete control.
June 2, 2014 at 9:51 am #1291StefanoKeymasterI don’t like CadeCanyon for the really high percentages they want. Also, I prefer to be in total control of my selling and license system than to delegate. Thanks for your support anyway, I really appreciate that!
June 3, 2014 at 5:45 pm #1303BJKeymasterNo problem!
And I really didn’t look into the fees too much at Code Canyon. I just buy stuff there and never sold anything, lol.
I have come into another error involving PayPal.
I’m testing out sending payments with one of my users and keep getting error:
Error: 406 – Not Acceptable
When trying to confirm payment.
I believe that all of the settings are correct. I just can’t figure this out.
Also, is there a way to mark someone’s account as paid even if I were to pay them offline?
Thanks!
June 3, 2014 at 10:02 pm #1306StefanoKeymasterYeah, I am aware of that problem, I fear it’s my host fault. I’m trying to get this solve as soon as I can, should I have to change host… Anyway, you could try again tomorrow and check that it is not an ephemeral problem. As for the normal marking as paid, yes! Just check the permissions box and you’ll find the checkbox to enable the feature ๐
June 4, 2014 at 2:56 am #1314BJKeymasterI saw that mark posts paid feature after posting my question, lol…
The last question I have is this…
I’m planning on rolling out this feature on my site really soon. If there are any features that I need that aren’t yet available, do you provide customizations to the plugin?
I think that’s it.
I can work around the PayPal issue by marking as paid and making payments manually. I have some time to figure things out as I’m not paying anyone til they reach a $50 threshold anyway. ๐
June 4, 2014 at 6:45 am #1317StefanoKeymasterI do, depending on the kind of work you need to have done. Just drop me an email (there’s a Contact me in the header) and we can gladly talk about it. ๐
I need to get this problem solved since it sometimes impairs license activations, although users sometimes experience it, usually not, and sometimes they do, but it vanishes just a little after. So it would not be a bad idea to try again ๐ I’ll keep you updated when this should be totally fixed.
Would you care posting (or emailing) me your Post Pay Counter > System Info? Thanks!
June 4, 2014 at 3:26 pm #1323StefanoKeymasterCould you try again PayPal? It might work now, and please let me know!
June 6, 2014 at 7:50 pm #1362BJKeymasterPayPal’s working now…
But how do you mark a payment as being verified if I were to pay offline, apart from your system?
I marked payment as paid but in the records, it says “unverified”.
Wondering how do I change this as I want my users to have access to their payment history but don’t want them to keep seeing “unverified”.
Thanks!
June 6, 2014 at 11:51 pm #1366StefanoKeymasterThe verified badge only works with PayPal. I’ll tweak so that it is displayed only on PayPal payments (I’ll actually have To See if that’s possible) ๐
June 8, 2014 at 1:03 am #1385BJKeymasterThanks!
That’d be great and last but not least, is there a way to change the wording in the submenu to be something other than “Post Pay Counter”?
Maybe “My Post Stats” or something similar.
And in the profile section change it from “Post Pay Counter PRO stuff” to simply “PayPal Address” or something like that?
I think that’s it! lol
I’ve really been testing this out as you can see before launching and promoting this.
June 8, 2014 at 10:23 am #1394StefanoKeymasterHey man,
I just released version 1.4 which contains the Verified/Unverified thing and the title change in user profile settings. As for the menu change, I don’t regard it as appropriate as a) it would get on two lines instead of one; b) “my stats” would not be accurate since users may also be allowed to see others’ stats ๐Hope everything’s suits you now,
StefanoJune 8, 2014 at 2:23 pm #1401BJKeymasterThings look good! Thanks for changing the wording to PayPal address instead so it blends in more naturally in user’s profile.
Everything else is fine.
If I come up with anything else, I’ll let you know or contract you to do some customizations but I think I’m a go to start promoting this starting Monday or Tuesday. ๐
Thanks a lot my man!
I appreciate it. Definitely leaving favorable review on WordPress for you.
June 8, 2014 at 9:30 pm #1415StefanoKeymasterGlad it is fine now. Always available anyway ๐
I’ll really appreciate the review, thanks!
September 10, 2014 at 6:02 pm #7994BJKeymasterHow long on average does it take for stats to populate.
I’m now formally testing out the system and brought on writer to test it out, who posted 5 stories yesterday and all his stories collectively have about 1,000 views according to Analytics but your counter still says 0 for all of the posts.
Thanks!
